Position Overview A highly skilled and experienced Senior Paralegal to lead a team of paralegals and legal assistants. In this role, you will manage day-to-day operations, ensuring our team delivers exceptional service to our clients. You will oversee case management, maintain workflow efficiency, and collaborate closely with attorneys to ensure successful outcomes in family-based immigration cases. As a Senior Paralegal, your leadership and expertise will help shape the future of our legal team and contribute to the firm’s broader mission. Key Responsibilities
  • Case Management: Independently manage complex immigration cases, including assessing each case, developing strategies, drafting applications, and preparing necessary supporting documents while overseeing your own caseload.
  • Case Tracking and Coordination: Collaborate with the legal team to monitor the status of cases and ensure timely filing. Keep track of case progression, maintain organized case files, and manage scheduling efficiently.
  • Training and Supervision: Create and oversee training programs for Paralegals and Legal Assistants, providing guidance and support to help them meet performance metrics and maintain high-quality work products.
  • Team Leadership: Cultivate a positive and collaborative work atmosphere, offering constructive feedback and direction to ensure the delivery of exceptional legal services. Act as a key resource and point of contact for the paralegal team.
  • Quality Assurance: Review and evaluate the work of junior paralegals and legal assistants, ensuring that all legal documents, forms, and correspondence are accurate, comprehensive, and comply with immigration laws and regulations.
  • Process Improvement: Identify areas for enhancement in our case management systems and processes, implementing changes that improve efficiency and elevate client service.
  • Client Relationship Management: Engage with clients in a compassionate and professional manner, providing regular updates, addressing their questions, and maintaining the firm’s strong reputation for outstanding client service, especially in challenging situations.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in family-based immigration law, with a strong understanding of USCIS procedures and policies.
  • Proven leadership skills, with experience managing paralegals and legal assistants in a fast-paced legal setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in both English and Spanish.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a focus on meeting deadlines and maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in legal software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and LollyLaw.
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in law, immigration, or a related field is preferred.
