Jessie Calmes is from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Jessie moved to Atlanta, Georgia, in 2006 to attend Agnes Scott College, where she received a B.A. in Political Science with a focus in U.S.-Latin American relations. It was during this time that Jessie developed an interest in immigration and the historical and political forces that lead people to make the brave decision to seek a better life in a new country. Jessie received her law degree from Georgia State University in 2015. Since 2015, Jessie has practiced criminal defense and immigration law, with a focus on removal defense and family immigration.
